Armando Andrade Tudela

Tudela uses installations, photographs, sculptures and works on paper in a practice interested in the specificity of the Latin-American avant-garde. Notions such as translation and displacement apply to the observation of how contemporary global culture is integrated into Peruvian culture or into so-called peripheral areas. The use of different cultural products like record covers, geometric patterns on truck rears or wefts of rattan used on furniture, reveal the artist’s practice: the reconfiguration of signs and meanings in the constant reevaluation of the same object.
